It’s been a busy summer so far!
Mixing has continued on Season 3 of R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour, and sound design work on Grave Encounters 2 wrapped at the end of the month.
I also spent a week in L.A. visiting friends, and had the opportunity to stop by some awesome studios including Technicolor’s new mix stages on the Paramount Lot; Marti D. Humphrey’s The Dub Stage; MonkeyLand Audio (Madonna’s old studio); Smart Post Sound and Todd AO Burbank to name a few. I also had a great hang out with Kris Fenski who has made the move to LA and has been having incredible success. His recent credits include Apollo 18, The Hunger Games, Savages, Paranormal Activity 4 and he’s now beginning work on the new untitled Chronicles of Riddick film.
Top L.A. re-recording mixer Gary Bourgeois was in Vancouver recently working with my good friend Gord Hillier. They were busy throughout July mixing the latest Air Buddies movie at my old stomping grounds Western Post. Gary and I go back to 2006 when I met him in LA. Great guy and awesome mixer!
Next up on the schedule for me is sound design and mixing on the next 2 episodes of The Haunting Hour; sound editorial, design and mixing for Abducted-The Carlina White Story, and mixing on a new Sleeping Dogs video game trailer.
